Lagos Business School is pleased to welcome the inaugural class of its newly launched Master of Science in Management (MiM) programme. This milestone marks the culmination of months of dedicated planning and preparation following approval by the National Universities Commission. The programme is a collaboration between Lagos Business School and the School of Management and Social Sciences (SMSS), both of which are part of Pan-Atlantic University (PAU). Classes will be delivered in-person at the Lagos Business School campus in Ajah, Lagos.
Designed for recent graduates and young professionals looking to kick-start a career in management, the programme offers a research-oriented curriculum that incorporates practical industry insights, ensuring real-world applicability. The programme also provides a pathway to advanced degrees such as a PhD.
Speaking on her expectations from the programme, Oluwakorede Bolaji Anibaba, a member of the inaugural class, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “I’m really looking forward to the intensity, rigour and learning on the programme”.
The MiM officially commenced on January 22, 2025, with a two-day orientation, where the dean, Professor Olayinka David-West, welcomed the class. In her opening remarks, Professor David-West talked about Lagos Business School’s origins, highlighting the school’s dedication to providing world-class management education that elevates management practice in Nigeria.
The inaugural MiM class comprises a diverse group from various academic and professional backgrounds to enhance peer learning. The eighteen-month programme has been developed to allow for in-depth specialisation. Students have the option of choosing any one of six specialisation tracks. The MiM was launched in alignment with Pan-Atlantic University’s mission to “form competent and committed professionals and encourage them to serve with personal initiative and social responsibility the community in which they work, thereby helping to build a better society in Nigeria and Africa at large”.
