About Our Centres

LBS’s research centers and initiatives build a community of experts to advance knowledge, and convene forums with academics, executives, and organisations to advance business practices on the African continent and beyond.

Christopher Kolade Centre for Research in Leadership and Ethics

The Christopher Kolade Centre for Research in Leadership and Ethics (CKCRLE) was created to influence the African environment through research in the area of leadership and ethics. It aids the LBS mission of developing highly professional and ethical leaders through knowledge creation (research) and the dissemination of research findings.

LBS Sustainability Centre

The LBS Sustainability Centre (LBSSC) is the first sustainability-focused research centre in Nigeria. It combines sustainability theories and practices to build leadership skills and support collaboration between businesses, government, civil societies, and academics to solve critical sustainability challenges.

SIDFS

The SIDFS initiative exists to support the development and promotion of digital and sustainable business models that can solve Nigeria’s financial inclusion challenges. It combines research, responsible market development, and an evidence-based advocacy platform to inform policy and influence key decision-makers in the industry.

Business Innovation Accelerator

The BOI-LBS Business Innovation Accelerator (BIA) was created in collaboration with the Bank of Industry (BOI) to provide high-quality entrepreneurship training and empowerment to young impact-driven Nigerians across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

Over the years, youth unemployment has risen to unsafe levels for the Nigerian economy and this has led to rising insecurity, social vices, slow economic growth, inflation, brain drain and other attendant hardships. BIA aims to produce innovative and problem-solving entrepreneurs whose successful businesses will contribute to the revitalization of the national economy through job creation and the global commercialisation of their products/solutions. This is intended to boost job creation, significantly improve SME business success and reduce loan default rates due to business failure. The Centre will also provide an ecosystem to support and enhance the technical, managerial, financial, and leadership skills of entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
