Before his faculty appointment at Lagos Business School, where he heads the Human Resource & Organisational Behaviour department, Uche Attoh served on the Industrial Arbitration Panel for eight years, where, following a Federal appointment, he presided and participated in tribunals constituted to adjudicate over trade disputes and Labour-Management Conflicts by the Trade Disputes Act and other Labour and Employment Laws.

He also had a successful, decade-long career at GlaxoSmithKline Nigeria Plc, serving as the Human Resources Director and Company Secretary for West and Central Africa. In this role, he was crucial to the company’s change and turn-around programmes, including integrating SmithKline Beecham with Sterling Health and Glaxo-Wellcome.

Additionally, Dr Attoh held the Director of Industrial Relations position at the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) and gained international HR experience through ILO secondments/fellowships to various organisations worldwide. He has promoted international best practices in the private sector through his membership in statutory tripartite institutions such as the National Labour Advisory Council, the National Salaries and Wages Commission and the Committee for the Restructuring of Trade Unions.

Dr Attoh is a lawyer. He also holds a master’s degree in Administration and is an alumnus of the International Institute for Labour Studies, Geneva.​
