Overview
The Owner-Manager programme (OMP) is designed for owners/managing directors of medium to large scale organisations. It is designed to provide business owners with the skills and capacity for development of long-term strategic plans to transform their businesses and drive profitability.
Learning Objectives and Benefits
The OMP will enable participants:
- Acquire knowledge of steps required to build competitive and sustainable businesses

Who should attend
- Founders or business owners/co-owners of companies with at least N200m annual turnover
- Partners in professional firms with at least five professionals
Structure and Curriculum
The Owner-Manager Programme runs for six weeks over six months with one week every month for class sessions.

Faculty
Dr Henrietta Onwuegbuzie
Academic Director
Dr Henrietta Onwuegbuzie is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Lagos Business School and a certified Management consultant. She is also an IFC certified Management trainer. Onwuegbuzie is passionate about economic development and socio-economic transformation in Nigeria and Africa, and has initiated the creation of over 100 profitable, impact-driven businesses through the MBA and Executive programmes at Lagos Business School (LBS), where she leads sessions in Entrepreneurship on the MBA and Executive programmes. She is currently the Director of the Business Innovation Accelerator (BIA), and Project Director for the Impact Investing initiative at LBS. She was recently conferred the Excellence award in Entrepreneurship and Impact Investing and appointed a Distinguished Fellow of the Global Africa Leadership Council. Prior to joining the LBS faculty, she managed educational projects for women’s development, in different states in Nigeria and subsequently, worked in the banking industry with key responsibilities for blue-chip companies and multinationals in the corporate banking sector. Onwuegbuzie sits on the Board of a number of companies, and has extensive consulting experience, spanning projects at the State level to conglomerates and SME’s in various industries.
Professor Olawale Ajai
Olawale Ajai is the Professor of Legal, Social and Political Environment of Business and Head, Department of Strategy at the Lagos Business School. He holds a PhD in law and facilitates sessions on business law, financial inclusion/digital economy and law, non-market strategy, microeconomics of competitiveness and public policy/administration. His research focuses on financial inclusion/digital technology laws and policies, business laws, corporate sustainability, corporate governance and non-market strategy. He is a member of the Environmental Law Commission of the IUCN, Bonn, Germany. He is the Public Policy Lead for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded ‘Sustainable Business Models for Delivering Digital Financial Services to Lower Unbanked Citizens of Nigeria’ Research Project at Lagos Business School, 2015 to date.
He was formerly Group Company Secretary/Legal Adviser; Executive Director, Human Capital and Executive Director, Marketing and Strategy at Dunlop Nigeria Plc. He was also at various times, Senior Research Fellow, Associate Research Professor and Ag. Director of Research at the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. He was a member of Council/ Chair of the Professional Development Committee of Chartered Institute of Personnel Managers of Nigeria for ten years. He has drafted major national legislation on environmental and natural resources law.
Olayinka David-West is a Professor of Information Systems with almost three decades experience in the IT and financial services industry and is a passionate advocate for digital transformation and inclusive finance. Her research and practice engagements involve policy and strategic management interventions towards digitally transformed businesses and society.
Professor David-West is Associate Dean at the Lagos Business School (LBS), the premier business school in Nigeria and sits on the school’s Management Board. She leads the Sustainable and Inclusive Digital Financial Services (SIDFS) initiative, a research and advocacy initiative dedicated to enhancing financial inclusion in Nigeria.
