titleAdegbesan's Research Published in the Academy of Management ReviewFriday, November 13, 2009

adegbesans-research-published-in-the-academy-of-management-review

LBS Senior Lecturer, Dr Adetunji Adegbesan recently had his research published in the August 2009 issue of the prestigious academic journal, the Academy of Management Review (AMR).

His article entitled "On the Origins of Competitive Advantage: Strategic Factor Markets & Heterogeneous Resource Complementarity" adds a novel insight to the academic debate on the origins of competitive advantage. In the article, Dr Adegbesan uses cooperative game theory to argue how companies can outperform others when their internal systems, structures, and culture, enable them to attract superior talent and other required resources, at a lower cost than competing firms.

AMR is one of four flagship academic journals of the worldwide Academy of Management, and it is widely acknowledged to be the most prestigious conceptual journal in the field of management.

Dean of LBS, Enase Okonedo, noted that this was not only an accolade for Dr Adegbesan but also for LBS, as well as Pan-African University.

She said: "Surely, LBS is indeed a school of global standards, and we all by our individual work and our shared passion and dream for the LBS to become one of the top schools in the world, will continue to strive for excellence in our respective roles."

Dr Adegbesan is also a global representative (Africa) for the business policy and strategy division of the academy of management, and he regularly participates as a peer reviewer, track chair, session chair, or discussant at annual meetings of the academy.
